2020 Plan With A Purpose Scholarship Recipients Named

For the past three years, Pioneer Valley Financial Group has been awarding the “Plan With A Purpose” tri-town $1000 scholarship to three graduating seniors from Ludlow, Belchertown, and Wilbraham. Each scholarship looks to honor a local graduating High School Senior who is meaningfully planning a purposeful future, though leveraging their academic career to make a difference in their community. This year our recipients are Alyssa Moore from Ludlow High School, Nate Courchesne from Belchertown High School, and Grace Crochiere from Minnechaug Regional High School.

Moore served as a member of numerous leadership groups such as the Tri- M Music Honor Society and the Student Leader Athlete Leadership team. While being an active leader in her community, she also actively gave back to her community as a volunteer. From working at freshman orientations to volunteering for the Ludlow CARES coalition, her service has touched many corners of the Ludlow community. She also was active with sports, playing on her school’s Varsity Volleyball and Softball teams. Moore has been committed to a medical profession since before she was a freshman at Ludlow High. She will be attending Elms College to pursue that commitment and obtain her nursing degree with the goal of one day becoming a nurse anesthetist.

While a student at Belchertown High School, Courchesne was highly active when it came to student engagement. From participating in a wide range of clubs and organizations, like the Belchertown High Humanities club and being an active Relay for Life Participant, he leveraged his academic career to give back to his community and build skills that will allow him to continue to make a difference. Along with these organizations, he also participated in his school’s Varsity Golf, Tennis, and Volleyball teams. Courchesne plans on attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst to study Computer Science. With his degree, he hopes to eventually work for an aerospace company such as NASA, SpaceX, or Boeing.

Crochiere was an active student at Minnechaug Regional High School. She was very active when it came to sports- playing for her school’s Field Hockey, Lacrosse, and Ski teams as well as travel teams in town. Crochiere was also active with other organizations in and out of school, such as being a volunteer at St. Cecilia’s Parish and her school’s Canine Club. She also held many leadership positions which included being a Student Council Rep and being the captain of her school’s Lacrosse and Ski team. Ever since she was little, Crochiere has had a passion for Business. In the fall, she will be attending the University of Rochester to major in Business with a focus in Finance. She hopes to leverage her education by bringing back the skills she learns at Rochester to assist the businesses in her community and throughout Western Massachusetts.

Living up to the mission, they have committed to giving back to the community, targeting their volunteer hours and charitable contributions towards organizations that support the development of youth and future leaders. The “PlanningWithAPurpose” Scholarship is one other way they have been able to uphold PV Financials’ mission.
