Austin Smith grew up in Palmer, MA, and still lives there today. He is a notable alumnus of Western New England University, where he graduated in May 2021 with a degree in Business Analytics and Information Management.

From his childhood through his teenage years, Austin was actively involved in various sports, including soccer, tennis, and swimming. He also enjoyed spending time with friends. These interests have continued into his adult life, where he enjoys soccer,
running, watching TV shows and sports, and traveling with his girlfriend.

Austin’s professional journey began at Big Y Foods in Ware, where he worked until graduating from college. He then transitioned to the Big Y Support Center in Springfield, advancing to the role of Senior Fixed Assets Support in the Finance department.

His time at Big Y was instrumental in building foundational skills of finance and accounts payable, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, managing balance sheet accounts, and overseeing the lifespan of assets. This role provided him with experience in finance vocabulary, organization, teamwork, and full-time work dynamics.

Austin shifted his career path by joining Pioneer Valley Financial Group as an Operations Support Specialist. He sought a change from his previous role and aimed to diversify his experience in the finance sector. His decision was influenced by his desire to apply his degree in business analytics across different areas in finance.

At PV Financial, Austin is excited about embracing a new chapter in his career after over seven years at Big Y. He also enjoys the familial atmosphere among the staff and the learning opportunities through training and task completion.
