Financial Advisor and Managing Partner Ed Sokolowski named 2016 Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Western Massachusetts Chapter at Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
It was a profound honor for our team to celebrate Ed, named 2016 Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Western Massachusetts Chapter, on National Philanthropy Day. The special day remembers the importance of philanthropy and how we can change the world with a giving heart.
"We do good by doing good," says Ed. “I'm honored to be recognized for my team’s service to our community. At PV Financial Group, we believe in helping our clients and community live better. Our legacy is truly the people and the lives that we have touched.”
The nomination came from the Ludlow Community Center / Randall Boys and Girls Club. Jennifer Aldworth, President & CEO, wrote:
“It is with great pleasure that I nominate Edward Sokolowski of Pioneer Valley Financial Group, LLC for consideration of the 2016 AFP Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment, financial support, community involvement and motivation of others to take on leadership roles toward philanthropy in Ludlow and surrounding communities…
Ed has been deeply committed and involved in many initiatives in the greater Ludlow area. Ed is a firm believer that it is his social responsibility to give back to the community and support children so that they have the opportunity to one day be successful too. He supports local organizations like Head Start and the Michael J Dias Foundation, in order to foster child and community development. You’ll often find him volunteering at local events alongside his Pioneer Valley Financial team…
Ed’s team also set an example to their business peers. In addition to giving their skill, knowledge, time and money, PVFG Associates go beyond these endeavors to get others involved and are advocates in educating others about the Randall Boys & Girls Club, our youth, their families and the community at large. Many staff members have served as board members, corporators, volunteers and donors of the Randall Boys & Girls Club. It truly is a testament to Ed’s leadership qualities.
Philanthropy is about more than just giving money. Ed and his team have spent time at the Club singing to preschool children, flipping burgers for our staff at the annual staff appreciation picnic, and sponsoring a community wide Bubble Blast event for the past two years celebrating the end of the school year for nearly 1,000 children from Ludlow and surrounding communities. Beyond his time volunteering, Ed and members of Pioneer Valley Financial Group share their talent by being consistent advocated for the Club...”
