“Service Above Self” in Romania.

PV Financial Advisor and Maintenance Squadron Commander Keith Tatlock joined nearly 300 United States Airmen in a recent deployment to Campia Turzii, Romania where he participated in a joint Romanian-American flight training named Dacian Eagle 2018.

Keith has spent the last 22 years proudly serving in the Air National Guard at the 104th Fighter Wing located at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, MA where he has been deployed four times.

Dacian Eagle 2018 deployed the 131st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, a Theater Security Package in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. While in theater, the 131st EFS took part in Exercise Thracian Star along with Greece, Bulgaria and the U.K.  Thracian Star is an annual international flight exercise which allows the participants to gain experience in real-life interaction in international environment.

This deployment highlights the United States’ ability to deploy fighter aircraft in support of our partners and allies in Europe and around the world.

"Although this 90-day deployment was challenging for my family, clients, team and community at large, I was inspired by the dedicated and selfless level of commitment displayed by my team. Not only did they execute a flawless mission in an unfamiliar of unknown environment, every team member served in the spirit of “Service Before Self,” the core value that guides the United States Air Force," says Keith.

"While we employ some of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced aircraft equipment in the world, our most important asset is our people. I was honored to actively serve my country over the last 90 days, inspired by the comradery of my hardworking team and thankful to return home to my family and community."
